Black Mountain of Agony

By RubyXero

The distance has grown,
so immensly between us
so that on your mountain,
opposite side this world than mine..
No longer can I see you.

I long for those young days
when slavery to misery
wasn't so desired.
When I could look to you
and see happiness,
not hesitate
because my love for loathing
would overpower potential
love for you.

And so I've filled this room with tears
countless mournings.
Could I dry these eyes?
with anything, of course...
But I choose to leave them
in their beauty.
Celebrate their grace.
One after another,
from my being they flee me..

But never, will this heart
already given to death
make space for what could
give or take me...

Tragic certainty; this feels like embracing a dark moment in your life because it's within your nature to do so.
