Wanderer GoodBye

By cre

Wanderer . . .
You passed this way before
When night of failing wonders
Did deign to so implore
Your footsteps falling softly
On this path adorned with dust
Your liquid eyes so lingering
on all that moonglow touched
Wanderer . . .
You knelt then 'neath the weight
The blackness of the sky
Mirrored all you hoped to hate
For hate would be release
Shaking off the clinging dirt
Traversing still your path,
Though relinquishing the hurt
Wanderer . . .
Did you see me as before
I fell upon your footprints
And wept as you explored
This world I knew would break you
And cast you into death
I would tear my own heart for you
And give you all my breath
Wanderer . . .
Pass beyond this way
I seep beyond the grasp of all
You tried to somehow say
Your footsteps falling farther
Will be my lullabye
Sing to me, sweet Wanderer . . .
But sing to me goodbye.

Oh to be the wanderer, never tied down, coming and going at will. No responsibilites, able to escape socities restraints. Enjoying the world in all its forms. A longing to be the wanderer.

Oh my...wow! A lamentation to a earlier self perhaps? Or a gentle proclamation to your lifes convoy? Stunning. I wanted to sing these words, they are so gentle, so *belonging*. I felt a hush follow this into the end, and it's still lingering.~DW~

Beautiful and mystical... The words, 'I fell upon your footprints And wept as you explored This world I knew would break you And cast you into death' are unbelievable.
