5:30 in Brandy's Arms
By Dejected_Worth
Repetition of electric buzzers
Pulsating, emanating
from the dollar store alarm clock
I can still taste the warm brandy
On my lips, from your lips,
Our lips soaked in the 80 proof morning after
Awkwardness
The bottle claimed a thirty year wait, but I couldn’t
Wait
to taste the sweetness of some other lovers throw away
wrapped in the blanket
of a lost little someone
took for
granted.
Yet she was all together another story,
And at 5:30 am
I wonder if she is waiting still, where I left her
To come here with you
The Brandy was aged perfectly,
The thick warmth intensified on your lips
The half purring, half moaning responses
The weight of long legs wrapping tight
Muffling sounds,
I hear no evil through perfect flesh
Tight rope dangle, and I am a tongue tied acrobat
Making this one woman crowd gasp at amazing feats
Of living room floor death defying stunts
One
New
Trick
After another, till all that was left was
A puddle of liquor tinted sweat and the shaking
Of hands held tight midst the afterglow of late night TV
And warm… thick… sweet… Brandy
And at 5:30 am
I wonder if she is waiting still, where I left her
To come here with you

Oh man . . . a double entendre of the best kind. Your arrangement is painstakingly fastidious- but somehow you manage to keep the flow breezing right "on my lips from your lips / ...soaked in the 80 proof morning after awkwardness" and "I hear no evil through perfect flesh / ...wonder if she is waiting still, where I left her to come here with you." Your emotion seeps through your words, truly. 10/10
