Forgotten No One

By Six-Out

I saw you there the other day
a faceless man amongst a broken backdrop
hardly a soul noticed
but I did

a flutter of thoughts
what life had you held- before
crystalline eyes holding what memories
or forgotten fantasies
as you're now confined
to this highway dream

do they see you/ like I do[?]
they should
wrapped up in their cellophane lives
materialistic princesses
and budweiser men
so blind to what really matters

-
I saw you there the other day
or missed you there, I guess I should say
hardly a soul noticed
but I did

I wonder - where did you go
had your life called you once more
or had it finally given up hope/ to what was
no longer did a lonely gaze
grace the asphalt of this
as tomorrow meets today

do they miss you/ like I do[?]
they should
hollow tears spilt over season finales
they just turn away
you offered them nothing
_while giving so much to me

-
I haven't seen you there, any day
faceless now, amongst whatever captivates you
hardly a soul notices
but I do

no mourners for a patch of grass
maybe someone will mow it down
and shred what little memory was left of you
I dare not turn my head
for fear of seeing that empty spot
that no one noticed was full

do they care at all/ like I do[?]
they should
lonely drives never hurt the masses
one day - maybe
they will learn what it is
to see the beauty, in simplicity

one day -maybe
they will learn
to live
