A Flag (Art)

So... This is my favorite piece... Bit of backstory...
When I first hopped on to DP I was way in the void, circa 2004... There
were so many kind strangers I met, and the above lines were spoken by a
former member of this community that I hold in the highest esteem. It's
written on my profile, and even when I faded out of DP in 2005, I'd come
back and lurk on those words whenever I felt small... Whenever life was
kicking me in the teeth. So anyway, this is my favorite because now these
words hang on my wall for whenever I need to rally... Like an axe-swinger
angered.
It's the reason I came back, too... It's the reason I'm giving this part
of my soul it's fair due. And it's uplifting to see that the community
hasn't changed much. New faces but still a place to throw your pain at
the wall and gain help from the collective in picking up the pieces. I
know I'm waxing philosophical here, but... Idk, we all have someone flying
a flag for us.... and that's a great feeling.
