Spawn of Lies

By Gray Vision

Like a festering wound,
This irritation grows
And try as you must
There’s no deterring this curse.
It starts out as one,
Then rapidly disperse,
It only takes one,
Then there’s no reverse,
It becomes a part of you,
A part known as deceit,
The worst quality in a person,
The one you can’t delete
It starts as a small lie,
What some consider “white lies.”
And pretty soon those white lies,
Give birth to black lies.
Akin to fire
These lies know no end
Burning family and friends,
Even the hand it’s dealt.
In the end,
When it’s all said and done
A lie, is a lie
No matter how small
No matter how much we deny,
Because in the very end,
It’s just another lie.

Indeed also some of the metaphors I used for example, "And pretty soon those white lies, give birth to black lies." I used the term/ phrase "Black lies" because people associate black to be bad, even though black can embody something beautiful like ebony for instance. Anyways thank you for your support and encouragement and I'll keep writing.

Great write, no matter how insignificant the lie it's still a lie and will always evolve into bigger lies, it's deadly progression at its finest. Well done, thanks. Scholar
