waking.

By Six-Out

breathe.

I tell myself
as I sit-
beating stars from my arms
in un-struck chords
of discontent.
I realize
that harmony doesn't come easy.

so I dodge sleep
like it's just a watered down
version of death.
in hopes that
the sky keeps burning
just a bit brighter.
and in breaking
I find
peace.

so I piece myself together
when eyes close
and the sky
it falls

like rain.
