Behind the Curtain

By RubyXero

In a time that once was
and the people that once were...
no longer do either exist.
No longer...

Can you see her?
replacing
rejoicing.
Resetting...the stage.
With new faces
and characters
Each placed
playing their part
in the dance of life.

He alone watches
in the audience.
Eyes wide and focused.
Salivating.
Straining
to observe through
that thick curtain.

Glued to his position,
unmoving.

Though fighting
yearning to join.
To jump and spin,
to flip and pirouette.

Writhing in attempts
in his seat, he remains...

All on the stage
they live!
Basking in their movement
In their freedom
every second
every move and step
decided.  acted upon
as one.

Paying no mind
to the yearning eyes
behind the curtain.
