Silent Stalker

By RubyXero

forever. A lone wanderer.
Passing between dimensions
with our vicious intent.
those eyes. ... so deep
doth their vision force through.
Beneath desires and intent.
before the cradle.
beyond the grave.
Hiding behind the void
of that deep. dark. cover.
spread throughout nothingness.
With drapes flowing
hauntingly beautiful with grace
as they sway like the
slow tumbling fog.
Such is the most feared in
the eyes of man.
Giving birth into the unknown.
tales and warnings
flee the lips and crawl into the ears...

'the indians would say
as you wander through the desert
glance behind your
right shoulder. you will see.
you will see how close it follows.
measure your time... by that.'

Slowly gliding it trails...
keeping tabs...waiting
ever so patiently.
as we burden ourselves
with commercialism and
unnecessary infatuations.
...As we frighten ourselves
blind and stupid.

But be not afraid, oh fools.
For the path to life
begins. with that single,
last... crucial breath.
escape.

fucking a. i loved the line "tales and warnings flee the lips and crawl into the ears" i just that the was fucking great. as i read on i felt you were talking about a vulture. the feeling of being in the desert and the buzzards circling over head and a soon to come death was what i got from this piece. excellent stuff. carry on.

I like the how it reads, though I find it appears limited to a single culture(though a not entirely wrong generalization). I see the attempt with the Indian reference/dimensions crossed. I think it would be interesting if you illustrated how it transcends into many cultures. Does kind of have a tone of the Old West perspective...then goes mod.(*thinks Sam Elliot Character, then shopping mall, goes to get coffee, and hopes does not come across harsh)
