Speeding Cars

By Lylani

I ran so fast
So far
From you
From that night
Felt my muscels burn
Always moving
Facing  forward

I left
I questioned myself
Because I'm always wrong
I saw you suffer
I hated myself for that
No one should hurt like I'm hurting you
But I held back
When I wanted to comfort
A voyer in your misery

I stumbled
In the fast lane of the past
Memories hit me like speeding cars
Headlights blazing in the dark
Bluring in my tears
I scream but I can't find my feet

Beaten down
I gasp for breath
The pain in my chest too great
Collapsed on the asphalt
Staring back
I see
I drove a straight road
There was no turning
I made no choice

You held anothers hand
You kissed that womans lips
You took her  to your bed

You threw me from a moving car
You stopped caring
And expected me to stay

But I will be loved
Or
I will be alone
I'm not just your wife when you choose it

So I left
I questioned myself
But I was right
I'm watching you suffer
But this isn't my fault
No-one should hurt like this
All I wanted was comfort
All you did was watch

Your works have capivated me from the time you arived here. So glad to have you around. You have a magical way of making me feel each line as if I had been there myself. Perhaps because I have lived through very similar moments. But you weave a certain beauty into the heartbreak that I never could. Lovely as always Miss L.. ^V^

Sounds about right to me - you cheat and pay the consequences. Once a cheater...Well done and thanks so much for this adult perspective and wonderful simile.
