Sunshine on Blackwater

By happilydepressed

Listening to and following the spirits we all crave
Boiling in a black cauldron in a dark cave
Did your demon host show you the path
And beneath the blackwater did you embrace the reaper's wrath

Did your candle burn out in a whimper?
Are your words silent or are they a low whisper?
Meant to reassure yourself and feel safe
"This is not my love it is my faith"

Were you meant to be here is not for me to say
But a little bit of sunshine would make for a beautiful day
Its the spirits we crave but the sunshine is all we need
Forlorn to be reborn and rise above the waves so the creatures will feed

I must say Congratulations, on the contest win. This is a kickass write. Having never entered a contest before, I must say this hits like heavyweight. Much Respect.

I am 100% creeped and terrified today thanks to that video... I never knew this existed and while I was confused for a moment, the video show-cased what I'm sure will haunt me in my dreams tonight. The piece itself speaks light to that. The part about the candle...that's going to stick with me for quite some time. Thank you!
