Asymptomatic in Salem

By dwells

The people you were near are in distress
Your antibodies kept you safe from harm
We tracked you by your smart phone G.P.S.
We want to stick a needle in your arm

Surrender while we have a cell for you
We need your blood to help us find a cure
The prisoners, they number in the few
We know your name; of that you can be sure

A key to all the city will await
Your picture will be posted on the net
Our doctors are the keepers of the gate
Asymptomatic laboratory pet

Or dread the mob that hunts you as a witch
They wear a mask for you who show no fear
Your friends and neighbors, all became a snitch
Surrender, for our future is severe

A hero of the people you shall be
Who gave of his last drop to make them free

This is a truthful masterpiece. Dark and dystopian, but that is the world we are living in. Trust no one.

Yes, sit back and trust the experts, their algorithms are all so accurate and all knowing...sixty percent of the time they are right every time... Every time I see that smug POS from Google, I want to slap him. :) Those are the current types of fingers moving the puppets (muppets) in the admin state. I also thought the idea of the tracking app, so cheerfully and innocently introduced, was noteworthy in a quietly horrifying kind of way. Ah, well... We have come to bury liberty, dwells, not praise it. Ciao, T/S Scholar

Hey there Q, and 13 too! TS: they changed the name of cell phone to smart phone just to fool us (I bet you thought a "cell" was just an area of coverage too :) Cheers all! - Dan
