Malum

By Nimue44

The rendezvous between carmine was the curtain call for every sin.
Lips, bite- apple. Reddish teeth.
From Eden, the flight.
And the first twist of a dice.
What does humankind…
Has with paradise?

The relation between hand and hawthorn,
Rose and night storms.

Would dreaming with utopias absolve us
From flesh-worshipping cities?
Would dreaming with a forever absolve us from the road in between?
Would Death spare us if we tell her a tale,
One dark and sweet?
But what reality was birthed by a perhaps?
When will we realize we have bloodstained all the maps?

What omnipotence wasn´t created by loneliness?
Do we all still believe in those ever-watching sockets?
Do we all still believe that faith fills our pockets?

We’re alone.
There aren’t choirs in the chapel.
We´re alone- with this bitten apple.

This is a great work and it carries a lot of truth. As a student of theology this perspective is interesting to me on many levels. Thanks for sharing this.

Very nicely done here Nimue, with the soft string of allusive lines to ponderings, at least to some extend, we must all ponder upon. Excellent write, and one that I much enjoyed reading.

Knowledge and self determination...? One life and no god to cleanse our miscreant deeds in some great beyond...? To sieze the day in a way that makes the world a better place...? This piece is brilliant and raised gooseflesh. Forever is now. Utopia isn't anything unless it's in the here and now birthed by the immediacy of unassuming love that demands no repayment or interest and keeps no ledgers.

This is just outstanding, one of the best imagery I've seen so far, the whole concept and message is just so unmistakably discernible. I enjoyed it.

Not just an image. But an abstract concept of "being" that calls away from the moment to moment distraction. Realizing the truth....whatever that means to each

I enjoyed this piece, I particularly liked the mental picture created by the lines "Would Death spare us if we tell her a tale, One dark and sweet?" That is an interesting notion! Ciao, T/S Scholar

I appreciate that, and it's nice to know I drew an image in your head, one dark and sweet.
