I'm Broken

By Lylani

I'm the shingle on the beach
Broken parts of forgotten collisions

You pour me into moulds
Trying to make me whole
Fill the cracks
Smooth the edges

But my sand falls through the gaps in your fingers
Because these wounds aren't made to be mended
I wasn't made to be perfect
I'm the chipped off corners of reflections
A million shards of other peoples beauty
And the chapters they tare up and replace with happy endings

You don't need to be my saviour
You don't need to find a cure
I am what I am

I'm broken
Thats okay
That's me

Good honest work here..A soul laid bare and the metaphor was very well worked. Nice one :)

Well said. Not a singal word needs to be spoken.
