Elven Minstrel
By HeadpatSlut
Elven Minstrel
One lucky evening passing by-
Through mystic woods I chanced-
To hear her sing a lullaby-
To
fairies as she danced.
A clearing in the woods revealed-
A lake of water pure-
Ancient binding spells appealed-
Her
radiance, a cure.
A maiden not of human race-
Her beauty
far too great-
With pale skin and tender face-
Her soul must
not know hate.
The tune and tempo both were keen-
This
mystic maiden mused-
With grace like I had never seen-
A magic
song she used.
The fairies quickly fell to sleep-
The
minstrel walked on water-
Of Silence feared I longer keep-
I
loved this forest's daughter.
I gazed at her in awe and wonder-
Slowly then, I neared-
I made a sound, my fatal blunder-
She
quickly disappeared.
The elven minstrel left me there-
I
saw her face no more-
Her song it echoes still somewhere-
I'll
hear her nevermore.

...this is a wonderfully written fairytale, but ends so painfully: an extraordinary vision never to be enjoyed again...

A very visual read my friend, I could just hear the maiden's voice echoing through the trees. Very good write, thanks for sharing.
