For a Friend

By Gray Vision

What defines a friend?
Is it covering for them
When knowing,
They did something wrong?

What defines a friend?
Is it being faithful
Even when knowing
That they won't,
Come around?

What defines a friend?
Is it being vulnerable
Even when knowing,
They're just trying
To bring you down?

What defines a friend?
Is it giving everything you have,
Knowing,
It's all for none?

If that’s being a friend,
Then I'd rather not have one.

I feel your frustration in this so much. I know too many friends like this...heck, family too. Makes you want to crawl in a hole and hide. You are your own true friend, that's for sure. However, there are a select few who really are a "friend". Very reflective, nice write! Oh, and hi again. I haven't posted anything new in a long time, but will let you know when I do. I miss your comments :)

That's how a friendship can be, it's an effective deterrent alright. Well done, thanks. Scholar
