let tonight be forever

By Taunting The Reaper

bare feet

cold, wet steps march on pavement
and the rain pours into me
like mysterious sunshine

this warm heart glows
piercing wind and through fog
running deep through the night

hands slack
relaxed
everything goes away
dripping from me
departing
as grief is relieved
through raindrops
like spiders
running into my skin
as they burst into stars

head back
eyes closed
there’s nothing to see
empty me into rain
and let tonight be forever
