Guardian Angel
By Meadowhawk
Fallen tattered feathers
their silvered tips
trembling at the
touch
of a chill breeze
rest mutely in the shadow
of a delicate
form
that gently shudders
with quiet sobs
Her pale
golden ringlets
try in vain
to comfort
slim and fragile
shoulders
that slump
with a burden of grief
only to slide
forward
dampening at the kiss
of warm crystal droplets
that
slowly trickle
from wistful blue eyes
No more
tiny
tears to catch
and place as stars
upon the face of heaven
No more
softly whispered secrets
from innocent lips
that
call to a friend
naught
but an aching empty silence
where
laughter used to ring
But a life has changed
touched by
age
so she sits and cradles
in her shaking hands
the memory
of a child
who has grown
matured
and forgotten
leaving
her to weep
in a lonely sadness
an abandoned angel
with
a broken heart

Exquisite... I do dearly love this peace. It should be read and yet I don't know if I'm fit to comment. You're very kind for sharing this; an instant fave!
