Perfect World - Tribute to all Dark Poets

By Midnight Phoenix

Watch as they slip into a perfect world, save grace.
The mentality has no envy for distaste.
I wipe away the tears to see them all pass through.
The gates won’t wait for me, but they will wait for you.

So I lay pacified by the catastrophic rush.
An angel sang for me of all that I could not touch
But through the lens of a teardrop I could see the truth
It was no place for me. If only they only knew.

The hours passed as I noticed the clock in the sky
Turn its face away from me as I began to die.
All had left into that place where I yearned to be
Until I realized there were others who left behind the dream.

They came for me from the shadows and from the rain
Those teary eyes had drowned these angels all the same
But something changed when the faces filtered out
For the first time ever we had finally found ourselves

We are all that remain…
