True Love Lost

By Butterfly

The light in my eyes dimmed a bit at his words
The hope in my heart faltered slightly with the tone of his voice
The loss of his love hurt more than any physical pain
Being a million miles away
Not being able to see his face
Not being able to stop the current of obscenities and untruths
Not being able to communicate at all.
Just sitting there listening to messages on a now dead cell phone
The next phrase pushes my tears over the brink
They won't stop
The flow unchecked for hours
Sobbing muffled by a comforting pillow
Crying uncontrolably
No one to talk to
Nothing there but my endless sadness
Heart shattered and true love lost.

Dedicated to Jack David McInturff
asshole that broke my heart, crushed it into little pieces and made me what I am today...surprisingly happy)
