...Above the Clouds

By SolApathy

Today another birthday drifts by
Visited you today, still a little I cry
No longer wondering why
Knowing that you are flying high
Far above the clouds in the sky
Untouched by the rain of our goodbyes
I smile knowing the pain you felt is long gone
It helps us to go on
Today a single flower did I lay
Upon its petals I did pray
To see you once again some day

Susinct and thoughtful. A gentle positive ending that lifts the weight of the content. Loss is never easy, especially on certain days but this brings a spark of hope as well.

Sadness and longing, much more in this time, yet finding solace in the idea that your beloved found some peace in the end... very intense stuff indeed. Liked this one.
