...Gravity

By SolApathy

I erupt with the violence of poetic mastery
Tapping into the darkness that drives me
Dedicating lines to unstoppable rhymes
Pondering the inescapable irony of time
Lost in every moment we look back to reflect on the memories I primed
Into the distance of future and past, coloring my final days --I grasp
Nauseous in the thought there may not be a way
Praying there is enough time...Today
Fixing broken promises; mending sunsets we didn’t share
Showing those that have given up that we care
In a glimpse of a feeling I bare our soul
Inviting in for just a moment so they can know
Our soul not so barren as our life
Wishing with our eyes you will share just one sunset sky
Silence of emotion as we listen to the waves of this unstoppable ocean
Hoping you grasp the gravity of the moment given
I die with the hope that I have been
…forgiven

An excruciatingly honest admission Sol; with a killer closing. But people will judge our books by the cover, and frequently we must first forgive ourselves. Cheers my friend! - Dan

Those last few lines are powerful. This whole thing felt raw. So very good.
