Sever
By Stephanie Sideways
You sharpened your show
of indifference
In attempt to sever
my emotional strings
You twisted the knife
in the soft flesh of settings
But with my back turned .
You cowardly thing.
The death that you sought
Was a mercy itself .
In the dirt of that Deed
you buried your guilt
So you could catch breath
Past a greener facade
wiping memory clean
of the love that I spilt.
