Whispering Star
By DarkDruidess
I dreamt of you again last night
Which thankfully
Doesn’t happen often…anymore
I can only stand the sight
Of you in the daylight yet
The night is dangerous still
Where memories have teeth
Leaving unrelenting bites
That bleed…deeply
You were standing across the room
Speaking softly, beckoning
For me to come closer
And I felt torn and sad
Rooted upon that spot
With my hand over my mouth
Trembling with a need
I couldn’t understand
Yearning to run to you crying
And let everything go away
Yet aching to turn my back
Remaining strong and unbreakable
While you still whispered…fading
Like the broken star
I once wished upon
I will always remember you
I hope you remember me…

The desperate yearning in the tone of the piece had me....I was initially feelin like I was reading a vampire piece, until the last third. And the inherent love hate, contradiction, had me feelin all.....empathetic.
Not often, I read something, and don't automatically disdain it, for it's open vulnerabilities.
I enjoyed this. Thank you.

Reminiscent moments have their dangers it would seem, one can lose oneself within them. Quite beautiful and very vivid.
