No Looking Back
By Ravenblade
Have you ever had
something pulling on you?
Like your very own
shadow?
Or worse,
something you can not see,
maybe, from
the shadows?
No reason to go,
but the pull,
dragging
you,
foot in hand,
fight as you may,
you still turn back
and the void is there.
I have run from its' call,
screamed
into the night,
just hoping,
someone could bring me forth,
deliver me from its grasp;
grant me sanctuary.
Resistance
is futile,
why waste your time?
Since our history predicates
our
future;
Then what is wrong with mine?

I loved it! Poems that make you reflect on yourself by asking you questions, superb! It's like a mind f***. Totally awesome! Please keep writing!

I can relate too. This is, in the same words, only poem form, the way my mother described her drug addiction to me. The paranoia that there's more than just your body craving the drug, that her very soul craved it. Thank you for reminding me of how proud I am of her now. Good write.
