I'm not OCD
By Rowan
These are the reasons my friends
falsely classify me as OCD:
1. I tend to eat my food in a clockwise
manner. My meat can not touch my vegetables, and my vegetables can not
touch my mashed potatoes. This is not done compulsively; I know I don't
have to eat this way. I just want to. If this bothers you then you
might be the one with OCD.
2. Odd numbers scare me. The end.
No explanation. I just don't like them.
3. I plan ahead. I enjoy
having a schedule sometimes. It keeps me organized. Also, I can deviate
from it whenever I please, because it's my schedule. Just because
you didn't plan ahead when it came to college and therefore missed out
on the scholarships doesn't mean I'm weird for doing things on time. It
just means I'm smarter.
4. My bookshelves are filled with paperback
and hardback books. Hardback on the bottom and paperbacks on the top. If
a book has a sequel, I must have it. I can't stand to read books out of
order in a collection. I know for a fact I am not the only one like that.
5. I like drinking with a straw. Everytime I go to a restuarant
I always ask for a straw. I do this because my dentist recommends it. (and
straws are awesome)
6. I hoard chocolate. Mostly because I love
it and want to eat some for later so I save it. That's why it takes me
a very long time to eat chocolate bunnies on Easter. I'm sorry you're jealous
that I have chocolate and you don't.
7. I like to get to the
movies early, especially on opening nights. It's such a hassle to find
seats ten minutes before a big premier. I hope the slackers enjoy their
seats behind that loud couple with the big heads.
8. I can't
help but speak bluntly, and give advice. I know I'm not your mother, but
really. Some of things you do are just stupid. I told you you'd hurt yourself
when you decided that shooting yourself in the hand would be "funny".
Yeah it was funny, but not for you I'm guessing.
9. I don't
really like big crowds. I don't have anxiety or anything, just some people
like to get grabby. Keep your hands to yourself, I warn you.
10. I don't really have a point for this one. Just trying to keep it
even.

2, 3, 5, 7, 8, & 9 totally me. I laughed when I reached 10 because of your cleverness. A truly relatable piece, I can appreciate when someone chooses to not claim that horrid disorder. I've been told I have OCD and I refuse to claim that myself, "look... I'm just being me. I'm sorry if my cleanliness and organized mind intimidates you. Get over it!" I often say. Thank you for the brief journey in the mind of someone whom chooses to standout. Congratulations on PoTD! -Write on

one thing i love about this is you love you, and you do things how you want to do them, and you don't hurt anyone...for ex. #8 about being blunt(cough)...some might think it is offensive, but what's really offensive is being fake...love your stuff, love that you are who you are..

I know some things may seem odd to other people, our personality is built in some way, maybe you have some things that OCD people have, but that doesn't mean you have it. I also have some OCD issues, but i don't have the disease. Some things that you do that it seems odd, it's just particular things about our personality, as long as it doesn't interfere with our life, i guess there's nothing to worry about. My girlfriend has an "obsession" with eggs, always afraid that people stole her egg and stuff. it's kinda funny ^^ The thing about you giving advice to other people, i think it's a good thing. At least you worry with others, don't feel bad about that.

3,5,8,and 9 i can relate to! the one we really have in common is 8, im overly blunt which often includes verbal abuse but its for a good cause people just irritate me when they have the same mundane problems *rolls eyes*

Pfhahaha! This is priceless! I can't believe I'm seeing # 2, 5 and 9 here, I have them too. Also, I have a thing for symmetry - everything has to be symmetrically arranged. As for eating, when I eat a veggie dish or a salad, I always start with the carrots, then the peppers and so on. It's sometimes annoying to have everyone looking in your plate at dinner. What's their problem? It's my food!

Haha the list was funny, but seeing myself in it was not, I don't hoard chocolate though, I hoard gum lol, and the odd numbers thing I catch myself doing that from time to time, but my excuse is it's hereditary, thanks for sharing.

HAHHAAHHA! Sounds OCD to me, Ro. If the fact that u need to end the list with an even number doesn't validate your friend's opinions about whether or not u suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder, nothing will. LOL (j/k, U know I love ya!) --Draven.
