Happy yasterday

By Lylani

Oh happy yesterday
Let me return to my love
Not knowing the harshness of cruel words
Let your arms draw me close
Not push me away with the past

Were we really nothing but imaginings?
Was that not your heart I held in my hand?
Were all those kisses merely lips brushing lips?

How can you say you never loved me;
When you said I was the best thing in your life?
How can you say it was meaningless sex;
When we made love by candle light?

Why do you take pride in my tears
When you swore to avenge anyone that hurt me?

How can you watch me fall to the ground
when you gave me the strength to reach the stars?
