window lady

By Taunting The Reaper

she sits by a window
staring into the day
her eyes chase a dog
accross the street

she sits there alone
and I wonder if she knows
how exquistely sad she looks
it's as though she were waiting for the rain
to fall
so that every tear she's holding back
will spring-out of a cloud
and pound its way into the earth
never to be seen again

I see her every day
just sitting there
wearing a somber shadow
cloaking a widowed smile
her glance reaches for anything
but touches nothing

I hope it rains soon

    Lovely work--made me sad.
