falling

By Taunting The Reaper

falling can be a bit of a dilemma
it requires that you stand tall
at first
strong and sure as a redwood
brilliant and noble
on an endless, lush landscape
sunshine feeding
branches spreading
the greenest of leaves
pure
beautiful
kissed by gods
adored from its deepest root
to the starry heights
of its highest reaching branch

exit
these glorious days

enter the storm

at first cool drops;
caressing bark
feeding
needing
loving
until it soars to greater heights

far too soon
the rain is pouring
pounding
drowning every last root
until sopping branches collapse
broken
lost
leaving redwoods slumping
worthless husk glistening
dying

exit the storm

dry bark cracking
weathered
beaten...

falling

I love this. And the previous remark of something being destroyed by the very thing it needs. Like a life destroyed by love. *fav*

Amazing. Simply, amazing. The eternal beauty of nature being destroyed by what it needs most of all.... I feel the point that you are trying to get through. Brilliant
