The worker bee is thankful for the role that he must play
The termite queen encumbered by the eggs that she will lay
The soldier ant is watchful, knowing death will be his pay
And Man within his city comes to know he must obey
The young are being drafted; doing battle far away
Their victories are many; where they sent them none can say
My youngest is a warrior, and she wears the Pink Beret
They feed us old baloney from the market on the quay
We eat it as we wonder on the “special of the day”
Then talk about the whereabouts of obstinate O’Shea?
Big Sister says she loves us, and she always gets her way
She speaks of great tomorrows; for her visions we should pray
I’m writing this from prison while my hair is turning gray
The firing squad is shooting more Contrarians today
