Oedipus Wrecks.
So where's your car crash now? You look like a mess.
Wild hair framing wilder eyes, have you ever felt so blessed?
Well, this land is an ocean, I wish you could swim. Winter's cold and you
look old- please just don't give in. From now on you are alone, but hey,
it's not so bad.
Go on, love, thank the stars above for all you ever had
(you always look so sad)
Cigarettes and coffee won't hide the sound your heart is making.
Please calm down- just look around- everyone can see you shaking.
It's obvious that in your eyes, there is beauty in destruction.
But you're in pieces so complex and there are no instructions.
What was said so long ago, you'd rather not remember.
And if you could you'd bury yourself in the soft snow of December...
(you could sleep forever)
You dream it's cold- but you know that it will fade away,
so sleep well my darling, in your bed of crystal flakes.
Tell them all that you don't care if you look like a mess
Wild hair framing wilder eyes, we have never felt so blessed
when you wake the sky is bright and full of shining stars
what a beautiful night for a bloody broken heart
you knew you couldn't love him,
you knew it from the start
Go inside, sit by the fire, and don't you fall apart
From now on you are alone, but hey, it's not so bad.
Go on, thank the stars above for all you ever had...
(and we will dream forever)

Excellently done! Very impressive rhythm and metre, bringing real power to this piece... It would make a great song, I think. And I love "Wild hair framing wilder eyes" a very, very large amount. Fantastic.

So... I'm back, and I still can't think of a decent comment other than to tell you I was still thinking about this 3 days after I initially read it. And now I'm going to read more of your posts.
