...Wounds

By SolApathy

Shadows are the essence of what remains
Sparse acrid smells of a lingering pain
I dreamt of winter only because it numbs the pain
Epitome of the curses of dreams
Open you to the anatomy of my screams
I bury the knife deep into my wounds
Provide you a wicked smile -Your sanity it consumes
Drink the elixir of my damaged dreams
I’ll take you to the dark crevasses beyond reality’s grasp
Drink from my prism flask of multiplexed screams
Multiplicity of dark duplicity seeps into your veins
A thousand feelings invade from love to pain
Innocence and loss
To the cliffs of vengeance at any cost
I’ll tear down the walls of your Papier-mâché matinee life
Show you the truth of a life never realized—Of dreams never dreamt
You know there is nothing more
No end to this internal war
Steal my knife and I smile
Knowing since the beginning this was the last…Mile

“I dreamt of winter only because it numbs the pain” That line made this whole thing worth it.

Wicked smiles from ear to ear; papier mache if too severe, band aids failed to stop the spear, thrown from the cliffs of vengeance. Cheers Sol and Happy New Year! - Dan
