...Grand Desires
By SolApathy
I feel the notes of the piano as they
play
I barely contain the pain they convey
My soul an explosion to be
As my fingers dance upon the keys
Don’t look to my eyes or you’ll see
Bitter rage of a kind soul abandoned to the storm
Just as it has driven - - the wind has torn
Rain echos the depth of this song I play
Sandstone barriers never meant to hold this hate
Sostenuto—Too long sustained
---Now broken—
Strings parched as they sing
A somber melody of a dark being
Soon to expire—I tire
I play one last melody as I set my piano on fire
I feel the hammers as they play a last frantic tune
Strings snapping as they are now victims of my impending doom
I barely contain the pain they convey
My soul an explosion to be
As my fingers dance upon the keys
Don’t look to my eyes or you’ll see
Bitter rage of a kind soul abandoned to the storm
Just as it has driven - - the wind has torn
Rain echos the depth of this song I play
Sandstone barriers never meant to hold this hate
Sostenuto—Too long sustained
---Now broken—
Strings parched as they sing
A somber melody of a dark being
Soon to expire—I tire
I play one last melody as I set my piano on fire
I feel the hammers as they play a last frantic tune
Strings snapping as they are now victims of my impending doom

I had to repair a broken hammer once on a piano Sol. Kids! This does conjure up an almost "Phantom of the Opera" image, and stay away from Rimsky-Korsakof or Tchaikovsky's "War of 1812" too. Cheers my friend! - Dan

The melody I heard while reading this was beautiful, but solom, just like these words.
