...Shimmer of a Wanton Reflection
By SolApathy
Into the Echo of dreams, despised
I’ll loan you my tired eyes
Witness the epic fall of one once so tall
Towering over the successes of others who fall
I confess of the crimes-- I’ve never been caught
Over the backs of those I’ve walked
Stalked their dreams
Ripped them away
(I’ll confess)
I smiled every day
I reveled in the decay of those I betrayed
Stealing even their children’s dreams
Recharged by howling screams
I am the God of Shattered Dreams
Wanton of something more
I was empty to my core
Driven only by desire to conquer hope
I failed to see I was at the end of my reign
I became the focus of my own disdain
I looked to the mirror, deep
Feeling the fear my visage reaped
I saw my eyes tired, with a shimmer of a tear
Despising my own existence
How easily I slit my throat with no
.….Resista…..

a tragedy ensues when we finally realize just how jaded we have become to the lonely desperation of other people... I love the way you never finished the last word... Kudos! ~worm~

Yes, I agree. The last word didn't need to be fully written.
