Overcome

By HeadpatSlut

I refuse to be bound by my past wars-

Screaming, haunting, I shall not be stayed-

Driven on by scars and pounding Thunder-

This man shall never be enslaved-

Every ounce of my body is burning-

But no regrets for the path I have made-

The Edifice of the Specters that haunt me-

Shall fall to ruin and a visceral flame-

Born to battle, overcome, and believe-

Nevermore shall this fire wither-

An Inferno rages on in my heart-

I can never be reduced to embers-

I have no love for the wasting-

Tyrants sure, have no love of me-

But I am part of a fuse, soon igniting-

Wake up these people to the fact they are free.

They can never win unless you let them, when it comes to your decisions on whether to give up or keep going. Loved this one. Ciao, T/S Scholar

I must keep on, my battle isn't just for me, I'm fighting for my loved ones that aren't here to fight. My grandmother, my grandfather, my friends, my teacher. My giving up means I give up their fights. I don't have the right to surrender for them, so fighting on is all I can do. If any other friends give up I'll fight for them too. That's the only thing I can do to prove to myself I'm not worthless. Scholar

I agree with kashmir. It just flows from one to another but I would make it a bit longer.
