beautiful regret

By SummerCoat

This is my most beautiful regret
you’re the mistake I don’t want to forget
I hate reaching for something that’s not there
I hate feeling un-important, like you don’t care
but
I think that I love you,
in the morning
before you wake,
when my fingers can trace your sleeping face
Stay Forever
I whisper in your deaf ear
but you’ve already left me,
though you’re still here.
-it’s your tears I’ve been crying
and even if you cared enough to ask why
I’d end up lying.
I would choke on the words I have to say to you
I’d vomit paragraphs and pages of fragmented sentences
about love and pain at your feet.
So-before you do go,
hold me.
Squeeze me until I can’t breathe.
Because I want to die
in your good-bye arms.

Wow, this is amazing. It reminded me of times I've spent feeling like this. You put it into words so beautifully :)
