spring (heart)break

By swing_the_hammer

she grabbed the stars
and threw them like confetti
into his heart
where they lodged,
and faded and fell apart
she left him lying in the dark,
but she knows she can't stop this
now that it's started...

she suffers from guilt
he can't understand
how she touches the moon
when she reaches her hand
skyward, she's hellbent
on getting some assurance,
some reassurance, someplace to land
and he still thinks she's heaven-sent

well, it gave him quite a start
when he witnessed
the beating of her heart
now he smiles,
and glows and falls apart
and constellations of stars
all shook in his arms
while they were lying...
(was it a lie?) with the dark skies
with dark hearts with the

cosmos shaking
