old poem inspired by life and donnie darko

By swing_the_hammer

I. A Friend

Maybe it's just my schizo tendencies
But you smell like death
And you look a little tired-
I feel the same-
Visions driving me insane...
(I heard the note resounding long before
he ever touched the piano)

II. My Love

I wake up with my arms in the air,
crying out to you but
I guess I forgot to tell you about it
in the morning
You woke up punching the wall...
Alone and thinking of me
Now I see how we need each other
Now I see

III. Breakdown and a Sunset

I scream, a soul-scream
heartbreaking and filled with
some unnamed emotion
Then I run (fly).
I like to pretend I am running away,
though I know I will return.

I see the sun going down
and the sky is just so goddamn beautiful,
I cry because I know it is fake
I cry because I know I will lose it soon
And I am right.
The sun sets again.

"Then I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
are the best I've ever had..."
