bleeding into eternity
By Taunting The Reaper
this is my journey
so I find myself placing
one sand-glazed foot in front of the other
as I walk the shorelines of apathy
in contemplation
considering the alternative
should I give a fuck?
just to be a bit more convincing
(to myself perhaps?)
I reach out and touch the ocean
meeting it as it ebbs at my feet
I cup a small bit of it in my palm
its dark, salted, wetness
reminds me of blood
and I say, “bleed for me
eternity”
as it slips from my hand
back into its own vastness
I realize that one day
I will bleed for it
into it
but not because of it
nor defined by it
and suddenly
the sun ascends over the grandest horizon
to find me smiling into oblivion

It was like a birth,..a life,...and ultimately a homecoming where all prior questions had been answered in departure..full circle.
