Only The Scars Remain

By suicidalsecrecy

Life hit her hard and she couldn't take it
Wondering if there was anywhere that she fit
She's unable to bend or else she will break
Her door is always closed its her darkness she craves
For its her own life she'll take

She hurts herself daily to get rid of the pain
The wounds have healed
Only the scars remain

Beauty lies within but not inside her
As long as she stands and weeps in front of the mirror
Negativity is her only friend
It will always be there
Because she's convinced herself that nobody cares

She hurts herself daily to get rid of the pain
The wounds have healed
Only the scars remain

Darkness holds her back and keeps her away
From anyone trying to get in
To help in any way
She hurts inside and holds it in
The Devil knocks at her door
Trying to win
Her soul from God's grasp
They fight it out and its finalized

The Devil takes her down as his prize

She hurts herself daily to get rid of the pain
The wounds have healed
Only the scars remain

It's also true. The acts causing us our pain in life almost always stop at some point...but their effects always linger. Nice write. Scholar
