Some Other God

By mysticventures

Some pray to the god of earthly delights
and overindulgences
I'll pray to some other god

While others pray to the god of vengenance,
retribution and fear
I'll pray to some other god

Still others pray to the god of credit cards,
debts and bills
I'll pray to some other god

As those pray to the god of the dead
and distant past
I'll pray to some other god

And as some pray to the god of the selfish
sensual man
I'll pray to some other god

Even as those pray to the god in that far off
distant place
I'll pray to some other god

And for those who pray to the god who is pledged
to return someday
I'll pray to some other god -

And I'll pray for those who pray astray

Mm, tasty. I can understand this one, because I live with them. The random gods of complacency and getting by. Some people never learn. Nice work here...it made me think of the book "Survivor". *nod*

Ahhh, this flowed with simple perfection through my soul. I can almost hear the rips and tears this may cause some others;, but ittasted just right to me. ~ wen
