Endeavor (A wish)
By Mistress Morbid
A wish held in a grain of sand
for a better world, full of vivid
glow and merry bliss
{If there was such a thing}
The site of soldiers fighting
knives plunging and bullets
zinging through the air
~freezes in mid time~
A child thrown in the air
by her mother who has
been shot in the head
the child frozen in the air
while the mother is 4 feet
from hitting the ground
Twenty feet away from
the mother is a ruthless
soldier, his arm stretched
back with a knife in his hand
he was going to throw it at
the child, hoping to miss its
body and pierce the head
Drops of blood still hang in
mid air, spraying from a man
blown away by a machine gun
kneeling on his legs, before he
fell limp and lifeless, drained of
all his precious flow of life
A car fifty feet in the air, had been
blown up by a dozen grenades
shards of glass still floating next
to the combusted vehicle
a severed head just 10 feet
below the car, hung, droplets
of blood still shower the scene
A man of great strength
had back flipped, caught
in mid air, about to land on
a man holding a rifle, who
was about to shoot his little
boy down like a fugitive
Everyone was still frozen
when a sudden wave of
light flashed over the land
and any signs of destruction
had vanished, returning them
to their previous, peaceful state
Only to relive the raid of their little town

wow, the intensity and vividness of it all is so powerful and mindblowing. The idea that somewhere, this is what happens, makes it more so. Astounding work.
