Shadows in the night

By Lord Kalgalath

I lie awake at night,
what shadows there are,
dancing on my wall.
do not give me comfort,
for they are only another reminder,
of the light i can never have,
the simple happiness others take for granted,
so long denied me here,
in the unending darkness of my soul,
so i lie awake at night,
and i watch the shadows dance on my wall
wishing i could join them in their dance,
and flee this life with them when the lights go on again

Mm . . I like this . . it captures a feeling that I pretend to understand . . and I especially like the use of shadows to illustrate a meaning.

I think that expereincing the worse, hightens the senses when feelings the best...there for giving us something so many won't ever have. This is so very reflective. ~JMDW~
