Dear God
By darkness_descends
Dear God,
Creator of all
Big and small
He who is infallible
He who is omnipotent
He who has existed
Since before existence
If we are all your children
Born in your own image
Why can't we even get along?
Dear God,
Am I to believe
That you love us all?
While some rot in the worlds putresence
How does it make sense
That so many good hearted are poor, dying, or ill
While those with hearts of black wipe away their defication on $100 bills?
Dear God,
Why can't you show yourself in corporeal form?
Is it that the almighty is afraid of harm?
Why must you communicate with us, your children,
By way of third party intervention,
Through the men of black in your religious hierarchy
They who are the very definiton of hypocrisy
The thieves and rapers of innocence
Who are somewho the givers of repentence.
Covered up defilers of children
The wolves in sheep skin.
Dear god,
All your fallacies
Can be seen beneath the thin veil of infallability.
Show yourself to prove you exist
Before your remaining follwoers cease and desist.
Am I to believe you're not just the man behind the curtain
Feeding his ego while playing puppeteer to the world?
You've "given" us freedom to choose
And I've lost my faith if ever I had faith to lose.
All I have to say is...
Dear God,
FUCK YOU!!!!!

I like this poem a lot. Normally I automatically don't like poems that have swear words in them because I think some things can be said more intelligently, but this is an exception. My favourite stanza is the third one. He doesn't show himself because he

I agree. To capitalize god would be using it as a proper noun (name). I believe that "God" was just a way of aiding the fear of death, or the government used "him" as a tool to control the actions of man (fear of hell) =-MO-=

powerfully honest piece... but maybe we need not blame God... maybe God doesn't work unless She works through us... maybe God shows Herself when we become and create that which we are truly capable of becoming and creating...

*cough* She? I'm sorry but if there truly is a god then I must disagree with that statement. There was this book I read a long time ago. It said something about god creating MAN in his image... then woman. Hmm... yes I think it was THE BIBLE?

Good questions, very important. Now, before this poem could be true, would only be if there actually would be such a thing as a god. But, nicely written, just like a prayer. Good attack against all religions. ~B.C.
