Weeping in the silence of my smile

By SolApathy

For my anger there is no reckoning
No salvation in my starvation of hope
I weep upon this lone boat
Unable to share my pain
I must be strong in front of her, feign
Only hope, not a drop of rain
Though my soul crumbles within
She will never see me give in
Granite smile, heavy as the burden I carry
Of this woman I was to one day, marry
Paroxysm of sadness consumes me
Though she will only ever see my smile
This cancer slowly stealing her mind
I hold her tight
Knowing there isn’t much time

Missed reading you Sol, and cheers sadly my friend - Dan (always wanted to live on a houseboat)

Beautiful words to convey how much we hide just to make our loved one(s) happy.
