...Saltwater Requiem

Below the stars I dream they aren’t just scars
But they are and I’ve named every one
I stand upon a sand-ridden shore
Moon Peering down into my core
Ocean surging, touching my toes
The water teases the horror I will soon know
Gravity—Just like sorrow will be in every tomorrow
Burdening me with the weight of my soon to be—Fate
I sit down, saddled by this overwhelming weight
I feel as the cool saltwater teases my bottom
Whispering that soon—All will be forgotten
Judgement is so fleeting as the water is upon my knees
Yet you won’t hear any pleas
I’ve dreamed of every end
I can no longer pretend
Gravity of the moon drawing the water higher
My memories drift towards the dire
Attempting to comprehend what led to my desire to end
You’ll find no penned letter or excuse for why I’m gone
You can’t comprehend what it is to everyday hear this same song
Liquid death now touches my chest
Chilling cold, the incoming waves steal my breath
Wicked thoughts dance to the rush of the waves
The pills I took were just there to help me behave
Locking me in a prison of my own mind
I had to stop—I had to draw the line
I tossed the last batch into the drain
-A fitting visual for an escape from the pain-
Waves creep beyond my mouth
I am steadfast in my desire to be taken out
My willpower, stout
I feel the stinging of saltwater eyes
You’ll never know if in this moment I cried
Drifting below the waves soon to be no more
I fought life and tonight—Settled the score
