...Requiem of the Soul
By SolApathy
Sunset blues play havoc with the red
and orange hues
Purple symphony of mezmerizing madness
(A true revelation of sadness)
Echoes whisper in tumbleweed trepidation
A Twisted symphony of my own internal introflection
Dreaming if only to embrace the why
As I watch this sunset sky
Your memories can’t sustain me anymore
They have faded with time, nearly nothing more
A wisp of a dream soon to be forgotten
Wondering if it was truly ever seen?
Just how long have I been--
Staring at these blank walls
Imagining they were waterfalls?
Purple symphony of mezmerizing madness
(A true revelation of sadness)
Echoes whisper in tumbleweed trepidation
A Twisted symphony of my own internal introflection
Dreaming if only to embrace the why
As I watch this sunset sky
Your memories can’t sustain me anymore
They have faded with time, nearly nothing more
A wisp of a dream soon to be forgotten
Wondering if it was truly ever seen?
Just how long have I been--
Staring at these blank walls
Imagining they were waterfalls?

the twist in the end fascinated me. I've been in psych hospitals and wondered what are they staring at question answered.

I love those last three lines. I feel so much of this.
