A game of chess, no less

By Jonas Robinson

I
Your toys are in the sandbox
Needless to say I,
Couldn't finish my sentence
And neither could anyone else

classic shows
comic books
but not a damn piece of literature

Playground rules, I should learn
Filled with gifts to bring you a good chill
And a brilliant thrill

Beginning to fade away
Into clouds of perpetual waste
What if a line is too cliche?

II
A bishop and a pawn and a rook
Still on the board painted red and black
Don't let me go there
Don't make me go there
Don't wake me from here

Science fiction pervert
film was on today
she said she had to go last night
So I just thrilled to waste
And the yellow moon was perverted on the breast
of the stonesĀ
of the eye
the critic
the savior
let me bone

III
She took me to the beech
But I couldn't remember
Why I was there
In the first place
Perhaps to get stoned
And giggle once there
At this perpetual nonsense
This perverted race
To see who wins the second race
The third
Or the fourth

IV
Stale mate at chess
Silent on the beech
What ever happened
To the way we used to talk

Forgetting our highway
We drove on a little curvy road
Perverted sunsine in eery ways looped seasonal pass
As Oregon waters drowned themselves on passages of fruit and dark literature

"Grassy nole,"
Say it every day
And by the time
You find yourself
Drunk at some hotel
You never find it as it appearsĀ
To kill the leaves you hate
Oh, look at this
The darkest dreadful ways
Of check
Check mate

I like the possible constant conflict & struggle of being in a relationship at least that's what I perceive from this and the episodic installments were a nice touch. Keep up the heart writes J-man.
