i, Devil~lyn
By Devil lyn
though I walk through these valleys
of death poetry and hearses
what I sow into this earth
is cursed with blasphemous black verses
and though I fear no evil
for I am divine and victorious
there is still much evil
in all that is satanic and glorious
and though I may be comforted
by thy rod and thy staff
no amount of religion
can exorcise me from my wrath
infernally christened
by a devil`d King
my lips are sealed bequeath
the iron embers of his ring
in all that I am …
a Diva maddened with darkness
in all that I`ve become …
a Diva plagued by a dis~regardless;
my heart is still
a mortal beating with lungs breathing
emotions fleeting;
only a phantom I remain
in your shadow of shadows
and poetries disdain`d
you will remember my name …
though I walk through these valleys
of death poetry and sin
what was bred from this earth
was from semen and men

I love that line 'plagued by a disregardless'. I love it when you find a line that perfectly conveys an emotion you have been holding onto that you can never pinpoint.

I liked the way you brought this full-circle DL. First the sowing, then an interlude with the forces of darkness, and finally the breeding... (but "from this earth" has a duality that is delicious). Lots to like here and welcome to DP - cheers! - Dan

Thank you, Dan ... I do look forward to being here for as long as I can ... I`m pretty monogamous when I find something that I truly like or enjoy; my only regret is not discovering this place sooner ... As to the comment, I`m honored ...

The play on words is done very well and the rhyming isn't forced and flows naturally. I also chuckled at the fact that it's a play on Psalms. I look forward to reading more of your work. Oh, and, welcome to DP.
