...Mosaics of a faded scream

A storm ravages in my soul
Long ago I became the cracked mirror I foretold
I blazed through memories so fast
I forgot so many
The imprints never seemed to last
I fear the dire warnings I whispered in her ear
Are now my own—I fear
Under a sunset mosaic I feel no love—Just muted skies
I can no longer enjoy nature’s highs.
I cradle a memory I swore I’d never let go
A smile of us upon a mountain dream
The feeling of the moment is gone though, it seems
As am I—the nightmare of my dreams
What is left of a man who doesn’t even feel his screams?

Feeling pain, though difficult, is perhaps better then feeling nothing at all. I suppose sometimes it takes going completely numb a few times, to really appreciate that. Cheers to turning some of your lead into gold, through writing! Peace, Anna Scholar
